175ac Farm Land in Taneytown, MD (Carroll Co)
Just picked up this lease for the coming season as part of a 370ac partnership we were able to put together. This is 175ac that's going to be good for deer & turkey, but looking to be more of a waterfowl focused property.
Access to the land is going to be off of Blacks School House Rd with parking on the property. From there you can access the rest of the land via foot or ATV. We do ask that any ATV use be limited to bringing in/our game & equipment and restricted to existing trails and field edges. Absolutely no recreational riding on the property and no riding at all in the fields. Primary water source is going to be tributaries off of Piney Creek that run to the north of the property, through the property and just to the south of the property....along with a pond on the property. The primary food source is going to be the AG fields on the land as well as AG fields on surrounding properties. When it comes to hunting in MD, Carroll Co is one of the best areas you can pick up, not only for deer and turkey....but waterfowl is prime as well. Hunters picking up this lease will be very happy with it.
The owner has requested that this be capped to no more than (5) hunters on this lease and he wants to have a pre-season meeting with them once putting down a deposit on it. He wants to make sure we also get a group that has a focus on taking our varmints on the property too. Other than that, we just need to follow DNR regulations.
The cost of the lease is going to be $8,800 and this includes a hunters insurance policy from Outdoor Underwriters. A 50% non-refundable deposit locks this in with the balance due by the end of May. Just use the discount code DEPOSIT when checking out for this option. And the hunters picking up this lease will have first right of refusal to renew it on an annual basis.
